Welcome to our website for The Lloyd Park Centre. I hope you find lots of information regarding our charity, our services, and find the website useful and informative.
My name is Pauline Thomas and I am the Chief Executive of The Lloyd Park Centre. I would like to invite all families in the community to access our services and I look forward to meeting you in the very near future.

Another outstanding! On Wednesday 11th June 2015 The Llody Park Centre Nursery had an unannounced inspection from Ofsted and we are pleased to inform you that we have now been rated Outstaning in all areas of our work. This is richly deserved as all the staff from both Centres do a fantastic job and work very hard to ensure all families have the best experience.
Unfortunatley The Lloyd Park Centres waiting list is currently closed due to the volume of applications. It will reopen in September 2015.
You can still register your child at Higham Hill Day Care.
Waiting List Closure
The Lloyd Park Centre would like to say "sorry" that we have had to close our waiting list.
The Charity has made the decision to temporarily close the waiting list due to the rapid rise in registrations. It has become clear that we do not have a realistic likelihood of being able to offer a place to someone new going on the list.
There are a number of reasons for this:
The Lloyd Park Centre has been popular with local families for decades; however, in the last few years we have seen a dramatic rise in the number of families registering to go on the list.
This may be due to the popularity of our new Grow Wild space, or that the quality childcare spaces at other early years settings locally are also under pressure and is certainly in part down to one shift to one entry at schools so most movement in the nursery happens in September.
The Lloyd Park Centre is proud to offer very flexible childcare options; this is so we can help the widest range of families possible. Having a high number of part-time places means that when a child does move on from the centre, it may not be the next child on the list that fills the time slot made available.
Predicting the list's growth and how long families might have to wait for a place has proved complex, despite the bulk of the movement being with the school year.
The fact that we give priority to siblings and to local children in need adds to the complexity.
As the demand for places has risen we have been meeting with other settings to see if together we can bring more spaces locally into use.
We are also working with the new Higham Hill Hub and the council to create 2 and 3 year Free Early Years Education Entitlement (FEEE) or part-time sessional care run by us there. This will help elevate the number of sessional places currently being offered at TLPC and HHDC which we can then change back into daycare places.
We do let parents on the list know about other local settings with spaces or shorter lists (including Lloyd Park Centre's sister site - Higham Hill Day Care). Higham Hill Daycare's waiting list is currently still open, although it is growing.
We are trying to be as clear and transparent as possible with those parents still on the waiting list about the likelihood of places becoming available and when.
I do hope this goes someway in explaining the waiting list situation, but if you would like further information please do not hesitate to contact me.
