Fundraising & Volunteering

The Lloyd Park Centre is a registered charity that incorporates services across both the Lloyd Park and Higham Hill community.

Although many users pay fees for services such as Daycare; the Centre relies heavily on fundraising.  The centre’s raises funds through a variety of different activities (and we are always on the look-out for new ideas) including:

  • Fundraising events  - The centre’s fundraising sub group work really hard planning regular events that are not only aimed at raising funds, but also offer fun activities for families to enjoy.  Regular events include Lloydstock; a summer music festival, a winter fayre, a Halloween family disco and quiz nights.
  • Grants and trusts - This is usually to fund specific projects or to purchase pieces of equipment.  Currently the centre is funded by The Big Lottery Fund and BBC Children in Need but applications to local and national funders are submitted regularly.
  • Contracts - The centre increasingly applies for contracts to deliver services.  This currently includes Children’s Centre services and some of the centre’s training.

Get Involved

There is a range of ways to get involved and support the centre’s fundraising.  You can:

  • Come along to our fundraising events, and bring along your friends and family!
  • Join the fundraising sub group and help plan events
  • You can also help out at events; we are always looking for volunteers to set up, clear away or help out during events.
  • Donate items for raffles
  • If you use the internet, use everyclick as your search engine and register with The Lloyd Park Centre
  • If you are experienced or wanting to learn a new skill, you can help to write and submit grant applications

Volunteering

The Lloyd Park Centre and Higham Hill Children’s Centre are both interested in volunteers joining our team. If you are interested in volunteering for the Centre please contact Ruhksana at either centre.

Please note that if you do want to volunteer you will either have to hold a current CRB or have the necessary documentation to apply for one.
